#nash72 is a gathering of (most) student newspapers from across Canada. I posted a few photos from today:
Chris Dinn and I are in Edmonton this weekend to talk about Hot Ink at NASH, Canadian University Press's annual conference.
1. Edmonton is flat.
2. Edmonton is very flat. Also, my camera sensor needs some cleaning.
(Update: When you fly to a city and go straight into a hotel, you end up making bad generalizations. On Saturday, we got a brief tour of Edmonton and the city turned out to be distinctively un-flat.)
3. A panel about New Media, moderated by all-round superstar, Chris Berube.
4. The panelists up close: Jacques Poitras, Matt Frehner, Mathew Ingram, Bryan Murley, Jeffrey Simpson
5-8. Various angles of Jan Wong.
On the topic of Jan Wong's keynote, a few twitter summaries:
Jan Wong: G & M fired me during my sick leave for depression. Gag order on me now lifted because I fought it & we finally settled. #nash72
"Jan Wong confessed for the first time her experience with depression after backlash from 2006 Montreal shooting feature at #nash72 keynote."
Pretty blown away by Jan Wong: everything is always a story. You just have to know where to look and be abloe to blend in. #nash72
Update: Ian Capstick has blogged about the Jan Wong keynote.
